Strength and stiffness
- Modulus of rupture (bending strength, EN 310): 30.0 N/mm² in 6mm and 9mm, 25.0 N/mm² in 12mm, 20.0 N/mm² in 15mm and 18mm
- Modulus of elasticity (stiffness, EN 310): 3,000 N/mm² in 6mm and 9mm, 2,500 N/mm² in 12–18mm
- Internal bond (EN 319): 0.80 N/mm² minimum across all thicknesses
Tolerances and finish
- Thickness tolerance (EN 324-1): ±0.15mm across all thicknesses
- Supplied with a 120 grit sanded finish, ready to sand finer if you want a smoother surface before coating
Moisture performance
This is where MTX is superior to ordinary MDF.
- Thickness swell after 24 hours in water (EN 317): 2.5% in 6mm, 2.0% in 9mm and 12mm, 1.5% in 15mm and 18mm.

Emissions
No formaldehyde is added to the acetylated softwood fibre during manufacture. Free formaldehyde measures under 1.0 mg/100g by the EN 120 method, which meets the lower limits set by CARB Phase 2.
Fire Rating
MTX is classified Euroclass E under the European fire classification system. It is not a flame-retardant board. Where a fire rating is required, specify MEDITE Premier FR.
