Reliable thickness for demanding applications.

18mm Plywood Sheets

18mm plywood is commonly used in construction, furniture making and interior joinery where strength, stability and durability are required. It is manufactured by bonding multiple layers of timber veneers with alternating grain directions, creating a strong and dimensionally stable panel with reduced movement compared to solid wood.

This cross-laminated construction provides consistent thickness, good load-bearing performance and resistance to warping, making 18mm ply boards suitable for shelving, cabinetry, flooring, wall panelling and structural applications. Depending on the grade, it can be easily machined and finished with paint, veneer or laminate.

Build confidently with sturdy panels.

Solid Structural & Construction Boards

18mm boards offer strength for subfloors, overlays, walls, roofs and partitions. Rigid, load‑bearing and ideal for light construction.

How plywood is made.

What is Engineered Plywood?

Engineered plywood is a manufactured wood panel designed to provide consistent and reliable structural performance. It is produced from graded timber veneers bonded together under controlled conditions to achieve uniform strength, stiffness and dimensional stability.

The manufacturing process allows precise control over veneer quality, adhesive bonding and panel construction, resulting in predictable load-bearing behaviour and long-term durability. Depending on the specification, engineered plywood can be manufactured for interior use, moisture-resistant environments or structural applications, making it suitable for projects where material consistency and performance are critical.

Water Resistant & Marine‑Related Uses

Marine grade 18mm plywood, BS1088‑certified, resists moisture for boats, wet rooms and outdoor structures, ensuring durability in damp conditions.

Marine Plywood Sheets

Boards that machine cleanly & precisely.

CNC, Machining & Precision Projects

Hardwood or birch 18 mm plywood machines precisely, ideal for CNC parts, jigs, fixtures and detailed panels where accuracy and repeatability matter.

Cut-to-Size Plywood Boards

Order plywood cut to size made exactly to your measurements. Our cut-to-size plywood is ideal from building projects to furniture making, cabinetry and joinery.

We use modern panel-saw machinery to cut 18mm plywood sheets cleanly and accurately, delivering consistent results with minimal waste. Whether you need a single panel or multiple plywood boards for a full project, our service removes the need for extra cutting, handling or setup.

For more detailed work, our CNC plywood cutting service is available. It’s perfect for shaped panels, repeated components and precision work. Simply enter your measurements and design, get an instant quote and order plywood cut to size online with confidence.

Material Types & Uses

General Purpose / Structural Plywood

  • Suitable for interior structure, shelving, boxes, floors, walls, partitions.
  • Good strength and stability for general use.

Hardwood Plywood

  • Tougher, denser sheet. Better surface for finishing and furniture.
  • Excellent screw-holding and load capacity.

Marine Grade (BS1088 / WBP Bonded)

  • Highly moisture-resistant board bonded with waterproof adhesive.
  • Ideal for wet areas, boats, decks, outdoor joinery with sealing.

Birch Plywood

  • Premium smooth face for furniture and visible surfaces.
  • Strong and stable with good finishing properties.

Popular sheet grades.

Birch Plywood Grades

When selecting birch plywood, the surface veneer grades are one of the most important quality indicators — especially for visible furniture and finish-work. Birch plywood is graded using a two-letter system B/BB or BB/BB.

Birch B/BB – Premium Face, Practical Back
Face (“B”) grade: The front surface is high-quality with very few imperfections. Minor sound pin knots and slight natural colour variation are allowed, but there are no large patches or repair plugs.

Back (“BB”) grade: The reverse side allows a limited number of small colour-matched patches or veneer repairs where natural knots or defects were removed.

This is typically the best quality grade commonly available in birch plywood especially where the front surface will be visible after finishing. “B” face is excellent for clear finishes, staining, lacquering or natural oil because its grain is consistent and visually appealing. The back can still have repaired knots, but since it’s usually hidden or used internally, this doesn’t affect the finished look.
Birch BB/BB – Balanced Quality Both Sides
Face (“BB”) grade: A clean, sound surface that allows small, colour-matched patches, tight pin knots and minor natural imperfections. Repairs are neatly finished and structurally sound.

Back (“BB”) grade: The reverse face matches the front, with the same allowance for small repairs and natural characteristics, providing a consistent appearance on both sides.

BB/BB is the most popular and cost-effective grade for general use because it provides solid performance with a good-looking surface on both sides. While it isn’t as flawless as a B face, it still offers a sound surface that is excellent for painted finishes, veneering, laminating or concealed cabinetry where a flawless grain is not essential.

Engineered grain structure.

Long Grain & Cross Grains

Birch plywood is manufactured from multiple thin layers of birch veneer, known as plies. These plies are laid with the wood grain alternating direction from layer to layer, a process that gives plywood its strength and stability.

Long Grain
Long Grain
Long grain refers to veneer layers where the wood grain runs parallel to the length of the sheet.

These layers provide bending strength and stiffness, making them ideal for load-bearing applications such as shelving, cabinetry and flooring.
Cross Grain
Cross Grain
Cross grain refers to veneer layers where the grain runs perpendicular (at 90°) to the long grain.

These layers control movement, warping and splitting, helping the sheet remain flat and dimensionally stable over time.

First time using Cworkshop, my contact was Jacek. We purchased sliding doors, with bronze mirror and prestige gold frame back in Oct 2024, so a bit slow in writing this review. We are very happy with doors, been installed over a year now, had no issues with them. They work as well as when we first installed them. I requested with my order 2 additional Bronze mirrors so we could install them...

Cutting service is very fast, my panels were ready in just 2 days.
accurate.

The cutting was very accurate, I'd say less than 0.1mm as I can't find out with my normal...
