Our edgebanding machines use PUR glue, which not only provides an excellent tape adhesion to the panel but also seals it and protects against water damage. Additionally, every machine is equipped with a near-infrared laser technology gluing station which allows us to apply laser edging tape and not show any visible joint line. Thanks to the computerised adjustment of the stations, our operators are able to tune the machine to suit every individual decor board so that applied edging tape is shaped and cut to fit the panel in a perfect finish.

The Technical stuff

Two different edgebanding technologies.

PUR Glue
PUR Glue
We use this stuff called Polyurethane glue (PUR Glue). In simple terms it is extremely flexible, durable and versatile and provides great resistance againt abrasion and rubbing. We use PUR Glue as it is the best on the market and can withstand a larger range of temperatures and is water resistant. This adhesive option is ideal for applications that will be exposed to a wide range of climate conditions. Because of this feature, we know that it will be durable when made into your favourite furniture piece. Also, when compared to traditional hot melt adhesives it requires twice as little glue application, which in turn provides a thinner glue line and a better-looking finish.

Laser Technology
At Cworkshop we use a laser bonding technology which makes it possible to bond the edgeband and board permanently, without seams and without adhesive. During the process of bonding the usual adhesive component in the edgebanding machine is replaced with a highly efficient near infrared laser. This makes it possible to completely do away with adhesive in edgeband processing and to create a permanently invisible bond.
